PHENOMENOLOGY OF DREAMS IN PHILOSOPHICAL PRACTICE
Por Maria João Neves, Ph.D

In a completely innovative way and even in opposite terms to the psychoanalytic approaches which are all interested in dream contentsPhenomenology of Dreams focuses on the form of the dream its relation with time perceptionrather than the dream content.
Inspired by the philosophy of María Zambrano (1904-1991) my research on Phenomenology of Dreams has been going on since 2004, having involved students of Clinical Psychology, researchers in the Laboratory of Sleep Studies, Chronobiology and Telemedicine at the University of Lisbon Medical School, the
Neurology Department at Faro Hospital, and private clients from my Philosophical Counseling.
Applying this technique can produce significant changes in peoples’s lives as has been shown in various articles and finally condensed in my book RVP Method Método RVP – Prática Filosófica no Quotidiano, (Lisboa: Instituto Piaget, 2009). This conference aims to show some examples of the Phenomenologica
Dream Analysis used as part of the RVP Method in my philosophical practice.
